Im Zuge unserer Vorstellungsrunde (Start hier) haben wir beschlossen, ein neues Selbstportrait von uns als Familie zu zeichnen. Da wir jedoch kurz vorher den neuen Animationsfilm „SOUL“ von Pixar gesehen hatten, ist es stattdessen ein „Soulportrait“ geworden. Bzw. ein Selbstportrait unserer Seelen. Bzw. ein Portrait von
uns, wie wir als „Soul-Figuren“ aussehen würden! Also ein #soulselfie, bzw. ein #soulfie!^^ Man könnte es auch einen extremen Fall von personalisierter Fan-Art nennen … 😉
Wenn man „SOUL“ guckt, stellen sich einem nämlich unwillkürlich zwei Fragen:
1. Was ist mein Funke?
2. Wie sähe ich als „Soul“ aus?!
Wir können jetzt beides beantworten …^^ Da wahrscheinlich noch nicht jeder von euch den Film gesehen hat (z.Z. nur als Stream über Disney+ zu sehen | unbezahlte Werbung), wollen wir niemanden spoilern. Nur so viel: Wir waren hin und weg und total begeistert und können den Film nur empfehlen! 😀
Fakten über uns
Wusstet ihr übrigens, dass Timo eine Ausbildung als klassischer Zeichentrickfilm-Animator an der Animationschool Hamburg gemacht hat? Und in der Zeit hatte er Unterricht bei einem Disney-Zeichner und auch bei einem Pixar-Animator. Ursprünglich wollte Timo nämlich mal Animator bei Disney oder Pixar werden …
Stew hat keine Ausbildung als Trickfilmzeichnerin, sondern musste sich das Animieren adhoc im ersten Semester ihres Kommunikationsdesign-Studiums selbst beibringen. Einer ihrer ersten großen, freiberuflichen Zeichnerjobs (1997) waren nämlich etliche kurze Trickfilm-Sequenzen. Dabei hat sie mitgekriegt, wie unfassbar viel Arbeit ein Trickfilm ist und hat sich daher anschließend lieber auf Illustration spezialisiert …
„Funken“ sind übrigens offenbar erblich, denn wie ihr dem Portrait entnehmen könnt, hat auch Sohni den „Zeichnen-Funken“ abgekriegt … 😉

In the context of our introduction tour (start here), we decided to draw a new self-portrait of us as a family. However, since we had just seen the new animated movie „SOUL“ by Pixar, it became a „soul portrait“ instead. Or a self-portrait of our souls. Or a portrait of us as we would look as „soul characters“! So it’s a #soulselfie or a #soulfie! You could also call it an extreme case of personalised fan art … 😉
Because when you watch „SOUL“, two questions come up inevitably:
- What is my spark?
- What would I look like as a „Soul“?!
We can now answer both …^^ Since probably not all of you have seen the movie yet (currently only available as a stream via Disney+ | unpaid advertising), we don’t want to spoil anyone. Just so you know: We were blown away and totally thrilled and can highly recommend the movie! 😀
Facts about us
By the way, did you know that Timo studied classical animation at the Animationschool Hamburg? And during that time he had lessons with a Disney artist and also with a Pixar animator. Because originally Timo wanted to become an animator at Disney or Pixar …
Stew has no training as an animator, but had to teach herself how to animate ad hoc in the first semester of her communication design studies. One of her first big freelance drawing jobs (1997) involved several short animated film sequences. She realised how much work it is to make an animated film, so she decided to specialise in illustration …
By the way, „sparks“ are apparently hereditary, because as you can see from the portrait, „Sohni“ also got the „drawing spark“ … 😉
